Glenn “Geeber” LaPolt, founder and Director of the Cabin Challenge, is a life-long resident of the Gunks.  For the past 35 years Glenn has spent his time hiking, cycling, exploring, swimming, and working in the Shawangunks.  Glenn also has a deep connection with the nearby Catskill Mountain…. fly fishing the many pristine trout streams, bagging peaks, playing wiffle ball on his custom made field, and telling stories in front of the campfire. 

Glenn is an eleven time Survivor of the Shawangunk finisher, two time Ironman Man finisher, and has completed numerous marathon swim events as well as numerous other races .  Glenn has spent the past 27 years teaching high school history, coaching swimming, and organizing athletic events for kids and adults. Glenn is happily  married with three daughters. 

Jeff Weiss

Jeff grew up in Woodstock, NY, hiking and biking in the Catskill Mountains.  After a long absence post college, Jeff and his wife found their home in New Paltz, and never looked back.  After years in Masters swimming and watching local events as a spectator, Jeff began his mediocre rise to the middle of the pack in triathlon and other endurance events around NY state.  

Jeff is a 7-time "Survivor" of the Survival of the Shawangunks (SOS) Triathlon, 8-time Cabin Challenge Finisher, and Race Director for the SOS4KIDS Triathlon and all around enthusiast for endurance events of any kind. Sorry ladies...Jeff is a married man and a proud father to his little girl.
